Building Community through Reading and Writing

Challenging the notion of the 'Bell Curve' by using differentiation to foster and support student learning.

We will consider the implications of working with developmental continuums in literacy with practical ideas that you can implement in your classroom.

Children working at their own pace through a developmental curriculum require opportunities to take responsibility for their own learning by identifying and working towards specific learning intentions and individual goals.

This session will also include:

  • ways of inviting ownership and participation through inclusive strategies;
  • the place for reflective dialogue and respectful listening;
  • and making and sharing connections.
