Storytelling for Children and by Children

Books are an implicit and exciting part of childhood and it is generally accepted that the reading of stories is important, if not fundamental, to children's literacy development. Telling and recording stories from an early age requires children to internalize and interpret the common conventions of story and is a key aspect in their current and future development of literacy.

This workshop will explore techniques for teachers to employ in both storytelling and in supporting children in telling and recording their stories.

Participants are encouraged to bring and share their own related practices and ideas
